The parade route was filled with patriotic families to watch the Inaugural Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Parade presented by Florida Hospital - Wesley Chapel, that took place on May 26, 2014. The parade route started out at Dupree Lakes Boulevard off Collier Parkway and ended just past the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home on Parkway Boulevard. Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal benefit society. Our founding principles are Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Florida Hospital – Wesley Chapel is one of 22 Florida Hospital campuses serving communities throughout Florida. For more than 100 years, Florida Hospital has become known for the expert, compassionate, individualized attention given to patients who visit them each year. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco presided as the Parade’s Grand Marshal. Other distinguished guests participating in the Parade include The Honorable Gus M. Bilirakis, State Representative Richard Corcoran, Pasco County Clerk of Courts Paula O’Neil, Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano. School Board Members Joanne Hurley and Cynthia Armstrong Parade participants include Marching Bands from Wesley Chapel High School, Wiregrass Ranch High School and Pine View Middle School, Mercy Ranch at Cypress Creek and Egypt Shriners. Knights of Columbus Assembly 2741 and Council 8104 hope the parade will become an annual tradition during which our community can honour the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and the soldiers at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home.
