Academy at the Lakes Founders’ Day and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
PDF VersionOn October 9, the school continued its tradition of celebrating Academy’s founding year (1992) and honoring long-time employees at an annual assembly.
Recognized during the assembly were all employees who have worked at the school 10 or more years. This year, there were four new members joining the 10 and 20 year ranks:
Penny Benson, Business Office, 10 years
Debbie Pitcairn, Director of College Counseling, 10 years
Sarah Ivie, Dean of Student Services & Middle Division Faculty, 20 years
Robert Sullivan, Upper Division Director, 20 years
Following the Founders’ Day assembly, the festivities spilled out onto the newly renovated Upper Division patio for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The celebration was the culmination of Academy’s summer construction project that produced two spacious, new classrooms and a 2,000+ square foot patio with both covered and uncovered social spaces for students.
