Swearing in Ceremony for New Pasco County Commissioners, Mike Wells and Mike Moore

The Pasco County Commission welcomed it’s two new commissioners, Mike Moore and Mike Wells Jr on Tuesday and their first votes were to elect Ted Schrader to be the new Board Commission Chair (Jack Mariano completed his service as Chairman, a job that historically rotates among the commissioners), and Kathryn Starkey was elected as Vice Chair of the Commission. Mike Moore and Mike Wells Jr. were officially sworn into office by retired Judge Stan Mills who goes way back with the Wells family, having gone to grade school with Wells Sr. and whose son went to school with Wells Jr., Tuesday during the commission’s regular meeting in the Historic County Courthouse in Dade City. Moore won the November 4th election against Erika Remsberg to replace the retiring Pat Mulieri in District 2 and Wells, by defeating District 4 incumbent Henry Wilson Jr., during an open Republican primary in August to win a spot on the same commission his father, Mike Wells Sr. served on 30 years ago. Both men enjoyed their first day on the job that began with pictures and handshakes but then officially assumed their duties immediately after the opening gavel fell at 10:09 AM.
