Ponytails Coach Tyler's Post Game Wrap-Up

Thursday, Aug 13, 2015 | On Target Page: Wesley Chapel, Greater Pasco County, Land O'Lakes Little League

“I hope the Wesley chapel community and the state of Florida is as proud of our team as I am. Your girls are fighting for wins and keeping one step ahead of our opponents. Once again I can't thank my coaches and the kids enough for making this a coach’s dream come true.
We have 12 players that all play their hearts out. In addition to being great players they are a team that exudes superior sportsmanship. So many of our local companies and businesses in the Tampa area and as far away as Long Island New York cared enough about us to contribute the necessary funds to get us here. We thank you very much for that support! We still have a battle ahead of us but be assured they will fight to the end! Congrats to Hailey Vazquez for her outstanding winning pitching performance!”

“We just want to give a shout out to Paula Kien, (team mom) for helping our team have the best decorated dugout! Another shout out to Kathy McLeod, for supplying all the gatorade for the World Series tournament.”

Ponytails - Coach Tyler’s post game wrap up Florida vs North Carolina

“Tough loss today for our kids...it was a fight for 10 innings. Give credit to North Carolina for tying it up with two outs in the last inning. We ran into a top notch pitcher that held us to no runs for 9 innings after we scored three in the first inning. We played a great defensive game as we always do. North Carolina remains as the only unbeaten team out of the four remaining teams. All three of our pitchers; Cassidy Eason, Hailey Vazquez, and Ally Fraley did a heck of job fighting off some good North Carolina batters. I am very proud of my catcher Madison Wagner for catching all 10 innings and controlling the game. We play Tennessee in an elimination game tomorrow at 2pm field #2. The four teams remaining are: Alabama, NC, Tennessee, and Florida...”

(Florida Angels)

“The girls played great yesterday but sadly it wasn't enough. They lost 2-0 to Virginia. Their time at the World Series is over but the relationships they've made will continue. These girls worked very hard to get here, battling their way through the districts and state tournaments. Since the beginning they've played with compassion, determination and dedication. We'd like to thank the wonderful coaches that led the girls on this journey, the families that supported these girls and the sponsors that helped make it all possible. Until next year...”
