Land O’ Lakes Community Center Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 14, 2015 to officially open the Land O’Lakes Community Center Park. The event started at 8 am and was held under one of the shelters at the park.

The park will have a number of amenities including: Bermuda grass practice field, Bermuda grass football field, 300-foot Bermuda grass softball field, .40 mile walking trail, concession building with restrooms and meeting room, maintenance building, event field (open space), two shelters, new parking lots, new playground and remodeled patio area.

The 16.5 acre park cost $2.3 million dollars to expand. The park will also feature a $250,000 stage that will be constructed in 2016 with grant funds from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, built in 1961, will remain operational at the park.

The Pasco County School District and the Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department have entered into an inter-local agreement for the site with Sanders Elementary School sharing field space and basketball courts.

Members of the Pasco Board of County Commissioners, County Administration, Pasco County School District, Pasco Constitutional Officers, and Citizen Stakeholders were invited and attended the ribbon cutting event.

Pasco County offers 34 parks, and more than 121 amenities, providing a wide variety of recreational opportunities to residents and visitors. The Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department enhances the quality of life for Pasco County citizens through the provision of parks, facilities, and programs that encourage residents and visitors to get outdoors, get active, and enjoy the natural beauty of Pasco County.
