Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced the recipients of its fourth quarter volunteer Star Awards. The awards were presented at a ceremony held on Thursday, January 19, at RMCBP. Five Star honored volunteers included Wilma Comeau, Linda Donadoni, and Virginia (Ginnie) Fournier.
Wilma Comeau started volunteering in 2010 and in her six years has accumulated nearly 1,900 hours of service working in the CPRU (cardiac post-recovery unit) waiting room. She has a reputation for a pleasant demeanor and a friendly smile, which is contagious to those who meet her. “She works well with others and is always ready to serve our patients, families, and staff, making them all feel comfortable,” said Manager of Volunteer Services, Donna Owen. “Wilma will escort people to wherever they need to go – offering coffee, tea and always willing to help in any way possible,” she added.
Linda Donadoni began volunteering at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in 2011 where she welcomes the public at door A and door D. She has accumulated over 5,150 hours of service. She also serves as a team leader on Sunday afternoons. “Linda treats all with kindness and she works well with everyone,” said Donna Owen, Manager of Volunteer Services. “You can depend on Linda; not only does she work her shift but also goes beyond working for others as well. She provides excellent service to patients, guests, and coworkers and is deserving of the Five Star Award,” she added.
Virginia “Ginnie” Fournier has been a volunteer at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point since 2013 and has already accumulated 8,000 hours working as a courier dispatcher as well as in the gift shop. “She trains, schedules, and provides assistance in the gift shop whenever needed, as well as working her other regular shifts,” said Donna Owen, Manager of Volunteer Services. “She is dependable and is always willing to take on extra shifts if necessary. Ginnie is a valuable volunteer to our organization.”
