Friday, Jul 21, 2017 | On Target Page: Dade City, Law and Order

Michael James Prater, age 38, of Brooksville, Florida was driving his 2001 Ford Ranger south on Bellamy Brothers Boulevard approaching Bent Fork Road around 1:30 in the afternoon. He lost control of his truck, crossed the double yellow line and was struck by a 2015 Ford F-450 in a T boned fashion with the impact centered on Mr. Prater’s passengers side and rear quarters.

Pasco County Fire Rescue Units from Station 27 and PCFR Station 24 Amanda Schultz, JT Joseph, Charles Lugo and Rhiannon Rutzen

attended the victims and determined that Mr. Prater needed to be Bayflighted to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, where he later was pronounced dead.

The driver of the 2015 Ford F-450 Robert Wayne Rutherford, 48, of Lake Panasoffkee and his passenger 21-year-old Evan John Webster of Spring Hill both refused treatment. Everyone had been wearing their seat belts and alcohol was not a factor and no charges would be filed.
