Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Hosts Five-Year Hospital Anniversary Celebration

Sunday, Oct 15, 2017 | On Target Page: Wesley Chapel, AdventHealth

Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel recently celebrated five years of serving Wesley Chapel and surrounding communities. Since that time, the hospital has continued to expand and grow, adding more services and technology to serve this growing area. This includes the Health & Wellness Center (which now have over 5,500 members), the Center for Women’s Health, Outpatient Rehabilitation services, robotic surgery systems and of course, the recently completed massive expansion which nearly doubled the number of emergency rooms and operating rooms as well as increasing the number of patient rooms, heart catheterization lab and observation beds.

In the last 5 years, Florida Hospital has made an investment that has not only meant advanced medical care for the community, but that has also made an economic impact. For example, the investment in health and wellness has transcended into job growth for the area; the hospital has helped double the number of jobs in the Wesley Chapel community. The hospital and Health & Wellness Center now have over 1000 employees (they opened with 400).

The hospital hosted a community celebration on Sunday, October 1st with family activities, food trucks and community partners from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and Pasco County Fire Rescue. The hospital also showcase its new ambulance which will transport patients from the new offsite emergency department in Land O’Lakes that opens in January and transport patients in between Florida Hospitals when necessary.

“We are blessed and proud to have served this our community for the last five years. Our expansion reflects the community’s trust in our care and the awards and recognitions we have received are a testament to the expertise and compassion of our staff and physicians,” noted Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel president and CEO, Denyse Bales-Chubb. “But we’re not done. We continue to add services to better meet the needs of our community.”

A new $2.8 million dollar women’s health center, Inspiration Place, opens later this month but is already taking appointments (www.FHInspirationPlace.org). The 24 bed offsite emergency department opens on SR 54 near the Suncoast Parkway in January 2018 and a new wound care center will be added on the hospital campus in the spring of 2018.

The event was to celebrate their five-year anniversary of caring for the community, there were food trucks, a rock climbing wall, bungee jumping, bounce houses and music. You were able to tour a fire truck, our new ambulance and visit our community partners.

The event took place on the hospital grounds, in the grassy lot behind the hospital. Parking was available on the grassy lot and on the second level of the Shops at Wiregrass parking garage (shuttles to event).

Helping Our Neighbors - Pioneer Medical Group partners with Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Pasco Public Defenders office and Pasco County Homeless Coalition to bring free health care access through a mobile medical unit once a month in conjunction to a food bank in the Lutheran Church of Wesley Chapel. The mobile medical unit was at our event and accepted donations of personal care items (i.e. socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, basic first aid supplies, etc.) for those in need throughout Pasco County.
