WC Rotary Land O' Lakes Satellite Club held a Vietnam Commemoration Ceremony for thirty Vietnam Veterans at the newly built Heritage Stage at the Land O' Lakes Community Center on October 28th.  The club became a commemorative partner with the Department of Defense in April and previously commemorated the service of a three tour Vietnam Veteran, George Voorhes, at a Rotary breakfast in June.

The outdoor ceremony featured Boy Scout Troop 149 as Color Guard, Rushe Middle School Band performing the Star-Spangled Banner, Keystone Community Church and Carrollwood Community Cultural Center Choirs performing the Armed Services Medley and God Bless America, Congressman Gus Bilirakis's Office that presented a letter to the Veteran's and Representative Danny Burgess that presented the veterans with the 50th Vietnam Commemoration lapel pin.

In 2015, then President Barack Obama signed a proclamation to honor those that served during the Vietnam era conflict between 1955 and 1975, regardless of location.  The club is proud to be a Commemorative Partner and plans more ceremonies in the future to honor the service of those that served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War era.
