The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Hosts the 3rd Annual Duck Derby, in Land O’Lakes
PDF VersionThe Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel hosted its 3rd Annual Duck Derby. The Duck Derby race was held on Sunday, March 4, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, located at F.O.P. Pasco Lodge 29, 21735 YMCA Camp Rd, Land o' Lakes, Florida 34639.
The fun-filled family friendly festival had food and drink, live music, a classic car show, bounce houses and games, and of course the Duck Races!
Around 2,000 yellow rubber ducks were dumped into the Lake, noodles were tied together to mark the course’s boundaries. A fireman started the duck derby race with a push from a high-pressured fire hose into the water. Attendees were able to adopt a duck(s) to the join the race, and the first ducks that crossed the finish line in the Lake won prizes. The ducks were adopted at prices ranging from $5 for a single duck to $100 for a flock of 25.
The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel will donate the proceeds in a Check to the Pasco Sheriff’s K-9 Association.
