Visiting Hudson was firing on all cylinders Thursday night against Land O'Lakes in a 25-11, 25-14, and 25-12 victory. "We pulled it together as a team, we communicated, and played well," said Hudson coach Kortney Newman. The Cobras (2-0), led by junior Logan McGee (12 kills, 10 digs) and senior Cheye-anne Savage (nine kills), looked very disciplined and focused despite seemingly playing down to the Gators' level of play. "You have to stay focused no matter who you're playing," said Newman. "It's volleyball, and anything can happen."

The Cobras looked tall on the front lines with Kayla Dugan and Savage outblocking the Gators. In the first game, Hudson never lost control in cruising to 25-12 victory. In the second game, the Gators (0-2) showed a little more hustle, but a lack of communication gave the Cobras easy points. However, the Gators didn't show a lack of heart or hustle. Despite trailing by 10 points, Gators were still diving into the sideline chairs to save volley. But the Cobra girls kept their foot on the gas and won the game , 25-14.
