Annual Student Honors Banquet Hosted By The Rotary Club Of New Port Richey

The New Port Richey Rotary Club hosted its 54rd student honors banquet in May at the Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. Thirty top academic achievers graduating from Fivay, Gulf and River Ridge high schools were invited by the club to attend the banquet in their honor, and their parents attended as guests. Also attending were all three principals of each high school.

The program speaker was Rep. Amber Mariano, District 36, Florida House of Representatives, who advised the students about setting their goals high to achieve the success they want.Each student was called to the stage individually and congratulated by club president Brent Simon. They were presented with a framed certificate of recognition and given a moment to mention the college he or she would be attending in the fall.

The New Port Richey Rotary Club was established in 1959 and meets every Wednesday for lunch at noon at the Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. Brent Simon is the current president of the club for 2106-2107. Rotary International is an organization of business and professional persons united world-wide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
