Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex, in Wesley Chapel

Premiere sports tourism and hotel complex coming to Wesley Chapel~~ WESLEY CHAPEL, FL ---- Pasco County and RADDSports will break ground on the highly anticipated Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Wesley Chapel.

The state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility and accompanying hotel add to the area’s already impressive offerings and Pasco County’s positioning as a premiere sports tourism destination.

“The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex is an exciting, new venture and partnership,” said Tourism Director Adam Thomas. “Athletes and their families will enjoy a world-class facility and experience that extends beyond the courts – at our newest hotels, premium shopping and dining destinations.”

The new 44 million-dollar public-private partnership will include a multipurpose gymnasium, public park, amphitheater and event lawn. The more than 98,000 square foot sports center features eight bio-cushioned hardwood regulation courts that can be used for basketball, volleyball, mixed martial arts, gymnastics, wrestling, soccer, futsal, cheerleading, dance and more.

The facility and amenities will create an ideal destination for local, regional and national competitions in the rapidly-growing amateur sports tourism market. Wesley Chapel is also home to Florida Hospital Center Ice, the largest ice sports facility in the southeast U.S.

The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex at 3211 Lajuana Blvd. will be developed and operated by Sarasota-based RADDSports, and a 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott built by Mainsail Development will be connected to the sports complex. Projected opening is late 2019.
