11th Annual Pasco Kids First Family Fun Day at Sims Park, New Port Richey by J David Wright

The 11th Annual Pasco Kids First Family Fun Day - hosted by Pasco Kids First, Inc. was held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sims Park, New Port Richey, Florida.

The 11th Annual Pasco Kids First Family Fun Day presented by Morton Plant North Bay Hospital and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital brought together activities for the entire family to enjoy, while promoting the health and wellness of families, interacting with first responders and learning about the resources available in our community.

This year’s event included:
- Trails and Tales Family Health Walk while reading large storybook pages of Duck on a Bike around Orange Lake sponsored by the Pasco County Health Department and the New Port Richey Public Library

- 125 children were fitted with new bicycle helmets by Safe Routes to School

- BMC Mattress gave away a new crib every hour

- Kids got to Shoot the Fire Hose with the help of the New Port Richey Fire Department

- Kids were able to sit in and meet first responders with more than 20 trucks, buses, motorcycles, equipment in the Touch-a-Truck Activity sponsored by Ford of Port Richey

- K-9 Demonstration by New Port Richey PD

- Meet and Greet with Tampa Bay Lightning Thunder Bug, PCSO K-9 celebrities, Spiderman, 2 Wheel Heroes, Princesses, Hawkeye, Your Star Wars favorites including Kylo Ren, Tusken Raider, Storm Troopers and maybe even Jawa

- $2.00 all you can play all day - Inflatables including a 18 Foot T-Rex Slide, Candy Obstacle House and Slide, Fantasy Castle Bounce House and a complete with your friends in the double Basketball inflatable

- More than 45 sponsors and vendors provided free arts and crafts or game

The object of Family Fun Day is to create a fun and safe environment for families to come and participate in a variety of activities together in an outdoor setting. From physical activities to arts and crafts, interaction with first responders to music, this event strives to give families an opportunity to participate in activities together.
