Daniel and Marla Rodriguez Seeds of Hope - Reflections on 911

The most dramatic fundraising event yet for the Mitze Richeson’s Honorary Mayor of Wesley Chapel campaign, who chose Oasis Pregnancy Center as her charity, was a concert by Daniel Rodriguez and Marla Kavanaugh Rodriguez at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church near the intersection of Rt 54 and Collier Pkwy in Land O' Lakes, Florida.

Daniel Rodriguez the “Singing Policeman” became famous after the September 11th terrorist attacks. The New York City cop’s strong tenor and uplifting rendition of “God Bless America,” which he sang at memorial events following the disaster, struck a chord with a nation in mourning. His performances led to an offer of formal training from Placido Domingo, under whom he studied for a year and a half; he also performed with Placido in concert. Rodriguez's wife Marla Kavanaugh, is an internationally renowned opera singer from New Zealand. Joining them will be New York City Jazz Pianist Jesse Lynch.
