After more than 75 surgeries and nearly 4 years of hospital care, Building homes for heroes welcomed Army Sgt. Joel Tavera to his new home in the Lutz/New Tampa area. The public was invited to line the parade route to welcome the American hero to his new home in patriotic fashion. The highly decorated, severely wounded combat veteran is receiving a special needs equipped home from Building Home for Heroes foundation. Procession started at 9:15 am from the Haley VA Hospital in Tampa and went to the new home in the Lutz/New Tampa area where Generals, an Admiral, the Commandant of the Marine Corp, and many others will participated in the dedication ceremony.
