During his 10 years as Sheriff, Sheriff Nocco has made innovation a priority. The Pasco Sheriff's Office was the first Sheriff's Office in the Tampa Bay Area to fully implement body worn cameras, a benefit to both the public and the members of the Sheriff's Office while providing unmatched transparency. The Pasco Sheriff's Office also created the largest mental health unit, the Behavioral Health Intervention Team, in the Tampa Bay Area with the goal of working upstream to address mental health issues before they become law enforcement issues. These innovations, along with the implementation of the Intelligence-Led Policing philosophy, which started in the United Kingdom and is used throughout the Tampa Bay Area, has reduced property crimes in Pasco County by over 35% in the last 10 years, continuing to fulfill the Sheriff's Office commitment to keep the citizens of Pasco safe.
Thanks to the strong support of the community, the Pasco Sheriff's Office continues to be on the forefront of innovation and, under the leadership of Sheriff Nocco, the Pasco Sheriff's Office will continue to keep Pasco safe each and every day."
