As part of National School Choice Week, the City of Zephyrhills Public Works Sanitation Division provided an educational demonstration this morning for special needs students at The Broach School - Zephyrhills Campus.

Approximately 180 students learned the ins and outs of residential solid waste collection and automated pickup. Multiple sanitation trucks were brought out, with tutorials on garbage packing and various truck components and operations; longtime sanitation supervisor Bobby Black, sanitation driver Donterrell Parker, and senior maintenance mechanic Jacob Hood were on hand, across morning and afternoon sessions. The City's Sanitation Division does public outreach for a number of other schools in the area, as well.
