Farewell Celebration for Kevin O'Farrell, Ph.D. at Pasco Hernando State College Porter Campus, in Wesley Chapel

The Farewell Celebration for Kevin O'Farrell Ph. D Provost was held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00p.m. at Pasco Hernando State College Porter Campus, 2727 Mansfield Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL, 33543.

Provost of Pasco-Hernando State College, Porter Campus Dr. Kevin O'Farrell has earned his Bobcat claws and is heading up north to Tallahassee as the new Florida Chancellor for the Division of Career and Adult Education, with the Florida Department of Education.

This was a farewell event for Kevin O'Farrell as he served for PHSC as the Porter Campus Provost and is now leaving for the Florida Department of Education as the new Chancellor. He will be serving in the division of carrier and adult education.

As we say farewell to Kevin O'Farrell and recognize his outstanding decade of service as a PHSC administrator and as a phenomenal provost at the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, Pasco-Hernando State College welcomes the leadership of Davina Jones, incoming acting Porter Campus provost.

Congratulations to Kevin O'Farrell on his new role as Chancellor for the Division of Career and Adult Education at the Florida Department of Education. Dr. O'Farrell's enthusiasm, work ethic and passion for promoting opportunities in education will be greatly missed by colleagues, associates, and students at Pasco-Hernando State College, but very much appreciated by educators and career and adult education students statewide.

Kevin O'Farrell, Ph.D., began his role as provost at the Porter Campus on October 10. Most recently, he served PHSC as the associate dean of academic affairs and institutional accreditation in addition to concurrently holding the position of interim dean of arts and sciences from May through August 2016. Initially, O'Farrell joined PHSC in February 2014 as the assistant dean of instructional services. Previously, he was the assistant vice president for communications and marketing at Trinity College of Florida from July 2008 to February 2014, and director of community relations and marketing from January 2007 to June 2008. He was also an adjunct instructor of political science at PHSC and Trinity College.

O'Farrell holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida, a Master of Arts in political science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in interpersonal and organizational communication from Toccoa Falls College, Ga.
