The Tunnels to Towers Foundation Donates Steel from the World Trade Center terrorist attack to Pasco County Fire Rescue

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation donated steel from the World Trade Center terrorist attack to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

The donation honors the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the groundbreaking of the first home at the "Let's Do Good Village" in Land O Lakes.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will build 100 homes in the "Let Us Do Good Village." All homes built within the community are mortgage-free and given to our nation's catastrophically injured veterans and first responders as well as, Gold Star and Fallen First Responder families.

This first-of-its-kind community will feature a state-of-the-art community center with an ADA compliant gym and pool, a movie theater, a basketball court, a pickleball court, meeting rooms, playgrounds, and more. The goal is to bring families with similar backgrounds together to heal and help one another.

This incredible gift from T2T to Pasco County Fire Rescue highlights their commitment to the Pasco County community says Public Information Officer Corey Dierdorff.

Special Thank You to Lucas, Macyszyn & Dyer, Injury Lawyers for these photos. The law firm is a huge supporter of First Responders.

Pasco County Fire Rescue said: Words can’t express the thankful feelings we have. This morning, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation donated a piece of World Trade Center North Tower steel from the 9/11 attacks on our country.

We couldn’t be prouder to display this tribute to those lost that day. The piece will be housed in fire rescue headquarters in a custom wooden case made by one of our own, Vick Brown. All the materials used to build the case were donated by our own Firefighters Charities of Pasco

Our Fire Chief Scott Cassin proudly accepted the steel in a ceremony at the “Let Us Do Good Village” in Land O Lakes. The village is the first-of-its-kind neighborhood reserved for mortgage-free homes for severely injured or killed members of our military or first responders.

We are proud to honor the memory of our fallen and thankful to celebrate this wonderful community.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. For more than 20 years the Foundation has supported our nation's first responders, veterans, and their families by providing these heroes and the families they leave behind with mortgage-free homes.
