Even though it is a non-partisan, Hernandez is just one of 29 candidates for School Board, statewide, endorsed by Governor Ron DeSantis and is also endorsed by the Pasco Republicans. Washington is endorsed by the Pasco Democrats and the Democratic PEC of Florida. In an election held in August Hernandez received 41,495 or 45% of the vote and Washington received 29,355 or 32% of the vote.

The lower court’s order said Hernandez was ineligible because “he was not living in the home at the time of qualification.” Hernandez acquired the home in April and change all of the necessary legal requirements to fulfilled all aspects of residency, such as driver license, voter registration, mail, utilities, and most importantly his homestead to claim legal residency in May. However, at the time of qualification, the home was under going renovations.

In a single page order, the appeals court agreed to accepted Hernandez’s motion for a stay and Hernandez name will remain on the ballot so the voters can make their voices heard in this election.

“This order allows me to continue to campaign and remain on the ballot during the time the appeal is being decided,” said Hernandez. “This is a huge win for Team Hernandez and for the students and staff of Pasco County.”
