The Tunnel to Towers Foundation Home Inaugural Dedication Ceremony for the first completed home in the LET US DO GOOD VILLAGE in Land O’ Lakes
PDF VersionThe Tunnel to Towers Foundation, established in memory of a fallen 9/11 firefighter, Stephen Siller, whose mission is to honor and support first responders and the military, hosted a ribbon cutting and home dedication ceremony for the first completed home in the LET US DO GOOD VILLAGE in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
The LET US DO GOOD Village is a new development currently under construction that will include 96 homes in a private neighborhood in Land O’ Lakes. The property for the Village was donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation by an anonymous donor. The Village will consist of mortgage-free custom, adapted smart homes for catastrophically wounded veterans and mortgage-free homes for the families of fallen first responders and military. The homes will be gifted to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s program recipients. The Village will include resort-style amenities throughout.
The first completed home was dedicated and gifted on Saturday, December 17, 2022, to a local Gold Star family, the Thorntons. Ms. Thornton, the widow and mom of the family, is a U.S. Army veteran herself.
The event was open to the public on Saturday, December 17 at 9:30 am. The ribbon-cutting and home dedication ceremony included a U.S. Marines color guard, a bagpiper, and a live rendition of the National Anthem commenced at 10:30 am. High ranking state and local officials were in attendance and spoke at the event. Following the ceremony at 11:30 am, a reception was held with free food provided by Glory Days Grill, live entertainment, vendors, emergency and military vehicles, a bounce house for kids and Santa and Mrs. Claus!
