Lutz Parade and Fourth of July Celebration

The annual Fourth of July Celebration took place on Monday, July 4, 2011, 100 block of W. Lutz Lake Fern Road/Hwy. 41 in beautiful downtown Lutz, Florida. The theme this year is "Lutz: Home Sweet Home".

They had a cake bake contest for men, women and children. Cakes and pies were auctioned off with proceeds going to the GFWC Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club. For more info contact: Terri Burgess 813-690-5790. At 8:00 am the 5K, 1 mile and family walk began. Then at 9:00 am, the Flag raising ceremony followed by the Race Trophies. Lutz Community Parade begans about 10:20 with the parade route starting on Lutz Lake Fern road, just east of Crooked Lane. It continued east on Lutz Lake Fern Road, circled behind the fire station, and proceeded in front of the Lutz Library, again crossing Lutz Lake Fern Road. Parade awards, and the inauguration of the new 2011 Lutz Guv'na will took place immediately following the parade on the stage of the Lutz Train Depot. The Nehrboss sisters, Kelsie 15, Bobbi 16, McKenna 17, Halie 10 and Kaila 17 sell their specially bows from their family business Bows and Beyond at the Lutz Fourth of July Celebration.The Lutz Volunteer Fire Department hosted a BBQ chicken sale and there was vendors in the park. It was some good ole' fashion patriotic fun for the whole family!!
