WESLEY CHAPEL - Wiregrass Ranch coach Jeremy Calzone couldn't have drawn the potential winning play any better.
Down by two points to nearby Wharton with 7 seconds remaining in the last of five games in the Ulrich Family Classic at Wiregrass Ranch, everything went as Calzone had hoped – except the 3-point attempt by Rico Kerney bounced off the rim and fell to the floor.
The result was a 71-69 victory for the Wildcats in the first-ever meeting between the two schools that, despite being located in different counties, are only four miles apart.
