Chasco Boat Parade at the Kinnards by Photo Journalist J David Wright

The Chasco Boat Parade was on April 13 on the Pithlachascotee River in New Port Richey. Its said to be the oldest boat parade in the state of Florida. The parade started in Millers Bayou along the Pithlachascotee River, and finishes at Sims Park. This year’s theme was Celebrate Your Passion. The Rotary Club of New Port Richey hosted it. The winner received 2500 with a lot of other prizes. Many other dignitaries were there including Kim Bogart, Paula O’Neil, Rob Marlowe, Bob Langford, Bill Phillips and the Honorary Governor of West Pasco Tina Shelton and the Judges of the sixth circuit of Pasco County were all in attendance. Ferman of Cross Creek and Hooters Wing House sponsored the parade. The event was a great time for all who attended come out next year tons of fun.
