Dr. Zacharias J. Kalarickal, DDS has been creating beautiful smiles since 1995 but last month he and his team from Wesley Chapel Dentistry took their talents and skills to the most impoverished areas outside of Guatemala City. This medical/dental mission was designed to bring needed care to communities located in areas outside of Guatemala City. Guatemala is the largest and most populous of the Central American countries and one of the poorest.

Over 56% of the population live in poverty (half of which earn less than $2 a day). We will be providing three days of free clinic in one of the most impoverished areas of Guatemala.

The team stayed in the western region outside of Guatemala City and in Antigua, one of best-preserved colonial cities in Spanish America. The town was founded in the early 16th century. Clinics were Monday through Wednesday. Thursday and Friday were free days to take tours of Ruins, museums (including the coffee museum), or Horseback riding in Guatemala countryside.
