It was Habitat for Humanity’s 2014 National Women’s Build Week was a great success locally and nationally more than 13,000 volunteers across the U.S. helped build simple, decent and affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of East and Central Pasco County held a woman’s build day helping build and paint houses. It was a great day for a great organization and lots of fun for the scores of participants. Habitat for Humanity East & Central Pasco County is a non-profit Christian housing ministry working in partnership with low-income families to improve the conditions in which they live in order to o eliminate poverty housing in the Dade City, San Antonio, Zephyrhills, Land O Lakes, Lacoochee, and Wesley Chapel areas.

Marvel Character Breakfast at Cobb Grove 16 by Benea Masella
All the Marvel action figures came out to meet the kids for the Cobb Theatres Grove 16 Marvel character breakfast. The delicious breakfast, provided by the Cobb Theatres very own CineBistro came complete with bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit and opportunity to get your picture taken with a Superhero! Children from all over Pasco County and northern Hillsboro came out for the event and had a great time, and will be looking forward to the next character breakfast at the Theatre. The CineBistro is a restaurant located in the balcony of several of the theatres where patrons can enjoy great food and beverage before their movie begins.

Oasis – A Pregnancy Center held their Fifth Annual Golf Tournament at Sherman Hills Golf & Country Club located at 31200 Eagle Falls Dr., Brooksville, FL. Registration began at 7:30am and lunch was provided by Hungry Harry’s BBQ. Raffles and awards were handed out after a lot of fun and a great day of golf while supporting a great cause. The Wesley Chapel Lions Club conducted a Diabetes Testing event at Wesley Chapel NISSAN. Over the course of one weekend, volunteers from the Wesley Chapel Lions Club tested 44 people and only had to give 2 referrals to see doctors. Richard Gonzmart, owner of the Columbia Restaurant Group, was the featured speaker of the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Noon luncheon of. Mr. Gonzmart talked about the History of Ybor City and the Columbia Restaurant. Owned & operated by the 4th & 5th generation of the same family, The Columbia is Florida's Oldest Restaurant & the largest Spanish restaurant in the world. Dr. Jose De La Torre received his Education from Ponce School of Medicine, Ponce, Puerto Rico and his Internship from Ponce University Hospital, Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Jose De La Torre received his Residency from Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas, Houston Texas - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Jose De La Torre has Hospital affiliations with University Community Hospital, Pasco Regional Hospital and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
