Pasco County officials have won federal approval to add an interchange at Interstate 75 and Overpass Road. Thousands came out for the 3rd Annual Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary Freedom Festival and Fireworks Show to celebrate their love for the Community and our Country. Activities included Bicycle Decorating Contest, Little Miss and Mr Firecracker Pageant, Watermelon Eating Contest and more! The fireworks show started at 9:30pm. Volunteers from the Florida Hospital of Wesley Chapel and the Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary over 8 hours from set up to take down for this growing event. The Bicycle decorating, Watermelon eating contests, and the Little Miss and the Little Mr Firecracker Pageants, were the big draw for adults and kids of all ages but the most entertaining event was the Fireworks with special thanks from our local fireman and the management of the Shops at Wiregrass who said...

Cypress Creek Ice and Sports Complex of Wesley Chapel Developer Gordie Zimmermann impressed the crowd that included Pasco County Commissioners Jack Mariano, Kathryn Starkey, Pat Mulieri, Ted Schrader and Henry Wilson along with Florida State Senator Wilton Simpson, Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber President Jeff Novotny, Hockey team members from Wiregrass Ranch High School, Mitchell High School and representatives from the University of South Florida whose Hockey team is thinking about playing there in future. The crowd was electric with excitement as TV cameras from all of our regional media outlets trained their lenses on the unveiling of the design for Florida’s largest ice skating facility and the announcement of plans for a 120 room hotel adjacent to the ice rinks. Pasco County Commission Chairman Jack Mariano said the facility will provide recreational ice for local skaters and will attract competitors from all over the world. “Two rinks would have been great. Three rinks would have been phenomenal,” said Mariano. “But with four rinks and everything else you’re putting in here, everybody in the world is going to want to come here to play.”

The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce held a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting and tour event of the Vintage Estate Homes at Grand Hampton new model home center located at 8434 Dunham Station Drive in Tampa, Florida with their new and exciting floor plans, elevations and a wonderful location. The Event was catered with a Tropical Themed Menu of Hor d'oeuvres and refreshments included Beer, Wine and their "Vintage" Signature Cocktail !!! Somewhere between 100-150 people took part in the festivities and I was thrilled that so many of them decided to record messages in Milorian Studios, the impressive TV studio on the first floor of the building of which we’re now the second floor occupants.

Wesley Chapel is going to have a brand new neighborhood come Spring. Standard Pacific Homes plans to call the new community it “Estancia at Wiregrass”. Estancia has 5,100 acres and will build a 1,181 home Community in the heart of the Wiregrass Ranch properties.

Chancey Road is approved for extension which will lead into the “Estancia at Wiregrass” development. In the future, Chancey will extend even further to connect to 56.Models will open May or June along with a 5,000 sq ft Amenity Center

The amenity center will have a Junior Olympic pool that can be sanctioned for meets if they desire in the future. It will have a Club room, Meeting room, Tennis courts, Basketball Courts and shaded areas for entertaining. Playgrounds are dispersed throughout the area. Walking/Biking/Skating trails will eventually lead/connect to Wiregrass Mall.

One of the men who helped bring the Ice Sports Forum to Brandon announced a plan Wednesday to build Florida's largest hockey and ice skating facility in Wesley Chapel.Gordie Zimmermann, one-time general manager of the Brandon facility, unveiled the $20 million proposal to Pasco's Tourist Development Council. The 150,000-square-foot sports facility would be built off Interstate 75 at the State Road 56 interchange and would have four full-sized rinks, including one Olympic-sized hockey rink.

Savanna Church hosted a Daddy Daughter Dinner Dance at Quail Hollow Golf Club on February 10^th and 11^th located at 6225 Old Pasco Road in Wesley Chapel. Fathers with their daughters enjoyed events including dinner, photo booth, music by Finest Deejays, activities, games and contests.
