Pasco County Republicans have chosen Mike Moore to face Democrat Erika Remsberg in the November 4 General Election for Pasco County Commissioner, District 2. Moore received 55% of the votes with Ken Littlefield receiving 28% and Bob Robertson earning 17%. Their vote totals were as follows, Moore 12,080 votes, Littlefield 6,015 and Robertson 3,721.

Groundbreaking Celebrates Construction of New Pasco County Utilities Building

It was a historic groundbreaking for the Pasco County Utilities Administration and Operations Facility on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 19420 Central Boulevard, Land O’Lakes. The building will be the central administration location for the Pasco Utilities System and will be located on the southeast corner of U.S. 41 and Central Boulevard. A number of dignitaries participated in the groundbreaking including representatives from the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Constitutional Officers, architecture firm Fleischman Garcia, contractor Construction Technology Group, Inc., employees from Pasco County Utilities and other County Departments.

They call it the “Florida Express 54” and wants to be sure it has the support of the people of Pasco County before it hands over the keys to the project's backers a local engineer Gerald Stanley, a New York investment bank and OHL. A spokesperson for OHL, that had built nine toll roads for the Spanish Government that failed badly, said Friday that total debt associated with the nine bankrupt involved in the roads was $7.1 billion. It seems that traffic on the nine toll roads, most of which connect Madrid to outlying towns, has plunged from projections made by expert government traffic planners.

For the first time in nearly two decades, Pasco County will send a Democrat to Tallahassee. Amanda Murphy won a narrow victory in Tuesday’s special election over Republican Bill Gunter. She will replace longtime legislator Mike Fasano, who resigned earlier this year to become Pasco County tax collector after 19 years representing west Pasco voters.

Three Republican candidates are seeking the party’s nomination for the District 36 House seat vacated this summer by current Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano. The district comprises coastal Pasco County, west of Little Road. Only registered Republican are eligible to vote in the primary Sept. 17. Early voting will be permitted Sept. 7 through 14 at the West Pasco Government Center. The winner will face Democrat Amanda Murphy in a special election Oct. 15.
