Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Parade by Florida Hospital - Wesley Chapel in Land O'Lakes, FLA

The parade route was filled with patriotic families to watch the Inaugural Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Parade presented by Florida Hospital - Wesley Chapel, that took place on May 26, 2014. The parade route started out at Dupree Lakes Boulevard off Collier Parkway and ended just past the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home on Parkway Boulevard. Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal benefit society. Our founding principles are Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce Honors Students at 15th Annual Pride Awards

For the Fifteenth year The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber recognized 140 outstanding students and athletes for their school pride, community involvement, and athletic excellence from each Wesley Chapel school. “The entire Wesley Chapel Community is proud of all our students and all of those recognized today. ” said Jeff Novotny, Chamber Board President in his closing remarks. During the ceremony at Wesley Chapel Performing Arts Center, twelve $500 scholarships were awarded, and proudly presented by: American Engineering Consultants, Brighthouse Networks, Centennial Bank, Cypress Creek Chiropractic and Wellness, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Home Buyers Marketing II & Chamber Ambassadors, Nova Southeastern University, Parks Motor Group, Wesley Chapel Self Storage and The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce. Abbey Duncan didn’t have a crowd of Wesley Chapel teammates cheering for her as she took the top spot on the podium to receive the gold medal for her victory in the 200-yard freestyle. Only two Wildcats qualified for Saturday’s Class 2A state championship swim meet.

Its showing might have been small. But with a pair of podium-worthy performances from Duncan, Wesley Chapel’s presence was mighty.


The Seahawks Shutout Wesley Chapel HS at Sunlake HS in Football Action

It looked like a trap game heading into next week’s matchup against neighborhood rival Land O’ Lakes, but Sunlake was able to turn a first-half defensive battle into a rout during the final two quarters.

Sunlake utilized its strong offensive line and was able to muscle 171 yards rushing, 134 coming from running back Nathan Johnson, in a shutout win at Seahawk Stadium.

Zephyrhills High School defeats Wesley Chapel 26 to 6 in Football Action

By Tim Porson, Tampabay.com Ty Tanner, who transferred from Wesley Chapel to Zephyrhills during the offseason, threw for two touchdowns and ran for one to help defeat his former team 26-6 on Friday. Tanner, a junior, finished with 74 yards passing and 46 rushing.

The Bulldogs, seeking their first playoff berth since 2006, scored on their first possession when Zach Gleaton capped a 10-play drive with a 35-yard field goal. Read more: Tampabay.com

Wesley Chapel faced fourth down twice inside Wiregrass Ranch territory during the first half of Friday night’s season opener.
