The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce Honors Students at 15th Annual Pride Awards

For the Fifteenth year The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber recognized 140 outstanding students and athletes for their school pride, community involvement, and athletic excellence from each Wesley Chapel school. “The entire Wesley Chapel Community is proud of all our students and all of those recognized today. ” said Jeff Novotny, Chamber Board President in his closing remarks. During the ceremony at Wesley Chapel Performing Arts Center, twelve $500 scholarships were awarded, and proudly presented by: American Engineering Consultants, Brighthouse Networks, Centennial Bank, Cypress Creek Chiropractic and Wellness, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Home Buyers Marketing II & Chamber Ambassadors, Nova Southeastern University, Parks Motor Group, Wesley Chapel Self Storage and The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce. Wesley Chapel Chamber Ribbon Cutting for Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber held a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening for Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa at their Wesley Chapel location at 1664 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Friends and family were able to stop in and visit their new location for food, refreshments and a tour of the facility. Debbie Gulledge, Owner of the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa welcomed everyone to the grand opening of her second location. Her first location in Tampa opened in 2012 and employs more than 30 staff and has 1,140 members.

Grand Opening for Dr. Jose De La Torre, New Tampa Interventional Pain & Sports Medicine

The Greater Wesley Chapel held a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Dr. Jose De La Torre, New Tampa Interventional Pain & Sports Medicine. Dr. Jose De La Torre received his Education from Ponce School of Medicine, Ponce, Puerto Rico and his Internship from Ponce University Hospital, Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Jose De La Torre received his Residency from Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas, Houston Texas - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Jose De La Torre has Hospital affiliations with University Community Hospital, Pasco Regional Hospital and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Easter Egg Hunt by Victorious Life Church at Cobb Theatres, The Grove at Wesley Chapel

Over 3,700 children and their families celebrated Holy Saturday with the good folks from Victorious Life Church for their annual Wesley Chapel Community Egg Hunt. The event was sponsored by The Grove at Wesley Chapel at the field adjacent to Cobb Theatres at 6333 Wesley Grove Boulevard in Wesley Chapel. There were three separate egg hunts (65,000 Easter Eggs) at 10am, 11am and 12pm and all activities and hunts were held in the open field directly in front of Cobb Theaters. There was a Special Needs egg hunt for about 30 kids at 9 am, located in Coconut Court (Center Court of The Grove). The Egg Hunt was free and they also had free Air Rides for the kids! Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at the new Glory Days Grill in the location previously occupied by Lee Roy Selmon’s off Bruce B. Downs Blvd. at 17808 Doña Michelle Dr. (just north of I-75). Although the weather did not cooperate there was great excitement as the first-ever Glory Days to open in Florida welcomed guest for the first time. The 220-seat restaurant, with additional seating for 50 more outside on a covered patio, has plenty of TVs, great food, sports grill and a fan friendly bar area. There is something for everyone on the menu and the prices are very resonable.

By Gary Nager of the Wesley Chapel Neighborhood News “It’s the best-attended ribbon cutting I’ve been to,” said one Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber Board member who attended our ribbon cutting event at our new office (in the Brookside Professional Park on S.R. 54) and the party to celebrate my 20 years as the owner and editor of the New Tampa & Wesley Chapel Neighborhood News on March 6. Somewhere between 100-150 people took part in the festivities and I was thrilled that so many of them decided to record messages in Milorian Studios, the impressive TV studio on the first floor of the building of which we’re now the second floor occupants.

Estancia at Wiregrass is coming to Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel is going to have a brand new neighborhood come Spring. Standard Pacific Homes plans to call the new community it “Estancia at Wiregrass”. Estancia has 5,100 acres and will build a 1,181 home Community in the heart of the Wiregrass Ranch properties.

Chancey Road is approved for extension which will lead into the “Estancia at Wiregrass” development. In the future, Chancey will extend even further to connect to 56.Models will open May or June along with a 5,000 sq ft Amenity Center

The amenity center will have a Junior Olympic pool that can be sanctioned for meets if they desire in the future. It will have a Club room, Meeting room, Tennis courts, Basketball Courts and shaded areas for entertaining. Playgrounds are dispersed throughout the area. Walking/Biking/Skating trails will eventually lead/connect to Wiregrass Mall.

Wesley Chapel Athletic Association held their Opening Night Ceremonies with Mike Moore (Board member and candidate for County Commissioner) throwing out the first pitch! The WCAA serves over 3,500 Wesley Chapel area families by offering over seven youth and adult sports programs. The Wesley Chapel Athletic Association, Inc., was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of Florida on June 19, 2000. This association may also be known as the WCAA.

One of the men who helped bring the Ice Sports Forum to Brandon announced a plan Wednesday to build Florida's largest hockey and ice skating facility in Wesley Chapel.Gordie Zimmermann, one-time general manager of the Brandon facility, unveiled the $20 million proposal to Pasco's Tourist Development Council. The 150,000-square-foot sports facility would be built off Interstate 75 at the State Road 56 interchange and would have four full-sized rinks, including one Olympic-sized hockey rink.
