Commissioner Henry Wilson spoke to Republican Club of Central Pasco at Copperstone Executive Suites
The Republican Club of Central Pasco hosted Pasco County Commissioner Henry Wilson on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m., at Copperstone Executive Suites, 3632 Land O' Lakes Blvd., in Land O' Lakes. The topic was the proposed elevated highway over State Road 54, and the delay in constructing Ridge Road. Commissioner Henry Wilson spoke to the proposed elevated highway. Commissioner Wilson displayed a computer generated pictures of a proposed elevated highway with that illustrated how it would impact hundreds of businesses and many communities with walled barriers along the one mile on/off ramps. Many of the protests of business people and residents were discussed and why would four elevated lanes save the people from the threatened 20 lanes that proponents of the elevated highway claim is coming our way on SR 54? Another major question was why do Pasco and businesses on Highway 54 need to be the traffic solution for the northern Tampa Bay region, is it a solution or really an albatross? Controversial, to say the least. For information, call Steve Graves at (813) 996-3011.
