San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival by Arlene Hein
The 47th annual Rattlesnake and Music Festival was held Saturday in San Antonio City Park. The festival combined many of the old features with some new attractions, new food and new prices.
The annual Rattlesnake Run kicked off festivities, beginning with 5-mile and 1-mile courses at 8 a.m. The festival opening ceremony was at 9 a.m., followed by a full day of entertainment, snake and reptile shows, wildlife exhibits, arts and crafts, children’s games, replica gopher races and food. The festival ended at 10 p.m.

3rd Annual Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary Freedom Festival and Fireworks Show
Thousands came out for the 3rd Annual Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary Freedom Festival and Fireworks Show to celebrate their love for the Community and our Country. Activities included Bicycle Decorating Contest, Little Miss and Mr Firecracker Pageant, Watermelon Eating Contest and more! The fireworks show started at 9:30pm. Volunteers from the Florida Hospital of Wesley Chapel and the Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary over 8 hours from set up to take down for this growing event. The Bicycle decorating, Watermelon eating contests, and the Little Miss and the Little Mr Firecracker Pageants, were the big draw for adults and kids of all ages but the most entertaining event was the Fireworks with special thanks from our local fireman and the management of the Shops at Wiregrass who said...

Mr. Gonzmart talked about the History of Ybor City and the Columbia Restaurant. Owned & operated by the 4th & 5th generation of the same family, The Columbia is Florida's Oldest Restaurant & the largest Spanish restaurant in the world. The Columbia Family includes 8 locations in Florida.
The Sunrise Shelter was presented with a check for $1,400 raised with spare change donations since December.

There was a Buzz in the air, everyone was really excited about the upcoming Spelling Bee. Everyone was really excited about inviting a friend so that they can experience what Rotary is really like. And everyone was really excited about meeting all the new guests. It was a very special meeting. Over 130 men and women arrived for the Wesley Chapel Rotary Club that meets at Ciao! Italian Bistro at the Shops of Wiregrass. They meet there every Wednesday at noon. Rotarians got a chance to invite that person that they've always wanted to in order to check out the Club. Everyone was touched and guests got a good perspective of what the Wesley Chapel Rotary Club is all about.
