Pasco County Commissioners Congraulates Joseph William Nystrom II on achieving the Rank of Eagle Scout

Joseph William Nystrom II, 18, joined Boy Scouts of America Troop 311 on February 23, 2008 and achieved 1st class rank a year later and subsequently was admitted to the Order of the Arrow Seminole Lodge Allouchsit Chapter on March 17, 2013. Joseph has held the positions of Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Scribe. Joseph has completed the Brotherhood as a member of the Ceremonies Team as well as completing OA Northern Tier and Sea Base High Adventures and is on course to complete the Philmont High Adventure Trek next summer.

Pasco County Commissioners and Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Firefighters Appreciation Month Proclamation

Fighting fires is one of the most hazardous professions, requiring physical strength, stamina, extensive training, courage, and selfless concern for the welfare of our citizens. In addition to their daily service to our community, Pasco County firefighters have joined the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in the fight against neuromuscular diseases by hosting their “Fill-the Boot” campaign. In 2014 Pasco County firefighters raised over $5,000 for MDA.

The 2nd Annual John Anderson Benefit Concert, held at the Dan Cannon Auditorium at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, benefited several local groups which include Sunrise of Pasco County, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Heart Institute, Thomas Promise Foundation, Bayfront Health Dade City Foundation and the Dade City Kiwanis Foundation. John was recently named to the Nashville songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.

Oasis Pregnancy Care Centers held it's 6th Annual Legacy of Life Celebration on September 25th at Exciting Idlewild. This is by far the biggest event in Central Pasco with well over 400 people in attendance. The evening was kicked off with an Invocation by Pastor Gilbert Rodriguez followed by a welcome and overview from Speaker of the Florida House, Will Weatherford, the Honorary Chair. The wonderful buffet dinner was then provided by Hungry Harry's Family BBQ.

Ben Pumo, owner of Benedetto's Ristorante Italiano, located on State Route 54 just east of State Route 41 at 21529 Village Lakes Shopping Center Dr., Land O’Lakes was again the host and the “go to” place for State and National leaders when it was chosen by Florida Governor Rick Scott to hold a rally Saturday. Many County officials and about 200 hundred supporters listened to the Governor speak out against the former Governor, Charlie Crist who chose not to run for re-election four years ago when Florida’s economy was in a serious down turn.
