San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival by Arlene Hein
The 47th annual Rattlesnake and Music Festival was held Saturday in San Antonio City Park. The festival combined many of the old features with some new attractions, new food and new prices.
The annual Rattlesnake Run kicked off festivities, beginning with 5-mile and 1-mile courses at 8 a.m. The festival opening ceremony was at 9 a.m., followed by a full day of entertainment, snake and reptile shows, wildlife exhibits, arts and crafts, children’s games, replica gopher races and food. The festival ended at 10 p.m.

The Wesley Chapel Lions Club held a Community Pancake Breakfast at Atonement Lutheran Church on 54 across from Saddlebrook. All proceeds from the breakfast go to help people in the community who are in need. The Lions Club is the World’s Largest Service Organization. Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better.
