Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Noon Spelling Bee at Tampa Bay Golf and Country

What a smashing success! The room was definitely BUZZING with excitement and laughs! They can't extend their appreciation enough to all their sponsors. Thank you to all the businesses who also donated fabulous door prizes and for their generous raffle donations that helped raise a lot of money for Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel. All the proceeds of the event will help their club continue their service projects in the community such as feeding the retired Veterans at the Baldomerro Lopez Veterans Home in April, their Turkey Gobble that feeds over 500 homeless and needy individuals on Thanksgiving Day, and international service projects like their previous trip to Honduras to install latrines and water purifiers in the homes of families in small villages!

Daughter of Founder, Congratulates East & Central Pasco County Habitat for Humanity on 20th Anniversary

Prominent men and local celebrities (Senator Wilton Simpson, Sheriff Nocco, and more) bake items at their homes, some from secret family recipes and some might be out of a Betty Crocker box. They bring their baked masterpieces to the event, walk the red carpet, and auction them off . Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County. At this year's event Habitat will have a very special guest, Georgia Luedi-Fuller.

Georgia literally grew up with Habitat for Humanity and is as old as the ministry itself. She was born at Koinonia Farm in 1971 in Americus, Georgia, where Habitat experienced its humble beginnings initially through Koinonia's "Partnership Housing" program, and then she witnessed its steady growth over the years, from 1976 to the present, "Habitat for Humanity International." Today, Habitat for Humanity is a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.

Nearly a thousand protesters gathered Saturday afternoon at Dale Mabry and Columbus to show their opposition to Venezuela violence.
“What we are trying to do is gather support. We are supporting the students and now we need support from the international community,” said Nathalia Assaad. College students in the country have been protesting for liberty and democracy in the latin American country and have been met with military and police. Eight have died in the unrest and hundreds of others injured or jailed.

Saturday morning on February 1st the Wesley Chapel Lions Club were having a diabetes screen training session for our members at the The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce office. The Club had 8 people signed up and had room for up to 15.
